With a BS in biological science and an MS in analytical chemistry, Matt has successfully developed over 100 supplements. He is currently the CEO/Chief Scientist of his own dietary supplement consulting firm, HydroScience LLC.

With over 30 years of experience as a pharmacist, Karen May, RPh, is a dedicated healthcare professional with a passion for empowering patients in their health and wellness journeys. Specializing in Medication Therapy Management, Karen is committed to ensuring that healthcare works for individuals, minimizing unnecessary medication use and avoiding additional complications.

Karen's career has been deeply rooted in serving underserved populations, with a particular focus on geriatrics and the homeless. As a thyroid cancer survivor, she brings a wealth of experience and compassion to her work, consistently advocating for the needs of those who often lack access to quality healthcare.

Driven by her passion for integrative health, Karen strives to make a positive impact on her patients' lives. She promotes a holistic approach that prioritizes well-being and informed decision-making, grounded in the belief that excellent physical health is essential for overall wellness.

In addition to her professional work, Karen actively participates in medical missions, volunteering her expertise in Guatemala and Haiti.

When it comes to treating his patients, Dr. Joseph Mignone lives by three mottos: never stop learning, never stop fighting for life, and always treat the whole patient, not just the disease. After completing his Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Florida, Dr. Mignone continued as an Oncology Fellow and later as an Assistant Professor in the Oncology Department, ensuring his knowledge of cancer was comprehensive enough to educate other doctors.

Realizing that while he couldn't cure all his patients, he could provide unwavering support until the very end, Dr. Mignone became a Medical Director at Vitas Hospice and pursued a Palliative Care Fellowship and Board Certification. This experience equipped him with the expertise to understand and help his patients at all stages of their diseases.  

With the advancement of medical science, Dr. Mignone embraced a holistic approach, recognizing the importance of treating the entire person. He sought to blend the wisdom of global ancient practices with modern scientific breakthroughs in targeted treatments, pharmacology, and oncology. To this end, he completed a two-year degree through Dr. Andrew Weil's Integrative Medicine program at the University of Arizona and a one-year certificate from the California Institute of Integral Studies. His extensive integrative training allows him to guide his patients in supporting their bodies and minds before, during, and after they received their cutting-edge medical treatments.   

Dr. Mignone's learning comes not only from his continuous pursuit of the latest research but also from his attentive listening to his patients and their caregivers. "As a physician, it is not my job to judge my patients; it is my privilege to guide and support them on their journey of healing and optimizing their health for as long as they let me," he says.

Dr. Mignone's dedication to his field is evident through his roles and affiliations. He serves as the Clinical Practice Committee Vice Chair of the Florida Society of Clinical Oncology and is a member of the Cancer Committee for the University of Florida and Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville. Previously, he held the position of Chairman of Medicine at Memorial Hospital.

Driven by a commitment to lifelong learning, Dr. Mignone is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the Duval County Medical Society, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, and the Society for Integrative Oncology. His contributions to the medical community have been recognized with numerous awards and accolades including being named in The Leading Physicians of the World. Over the years, he was honored with Castle Connolly’s Top Doctors Award (2007-present), On-Time Doctor Award (2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018), Patients’ Choice Award (2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018), US News and world Report Top Doctor Award, Patients’ Choice 5th Anniversary Award (2016, 2017, 2018), Compassionate Doctor Award – 5 Year Honoree (2016, 2017, 2018), Compassionate Doctor Recognition (2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018), and Top Doctor Award from the International Association of Oncologists (2016).

Outside the clinic, Dr. Mignone finds joy in the skies as a licensed pilot. When he's not flying, you can find him biking, paddle-boarding, or playing tennis. He loves traveling with his wife and daughter, practicing yoga, and taking daily beach walks with their dog.

Todd earned a doctorate in naturopathic medicine from Bastyr University’s Washington campus in 2012. Bastyr University is a recognized leader in natural medicine, accredited by the NWCCU and the CNME, the only naturopathic accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

After graduation, Todd completed the Naturopathic Physicians Licensing Examinations (NPLEX) and obtained licensure to practice naturopathic medicine in Washington State, maintaining the license in good standing since its issuance.

During his time at Bastyr, Todd completed a specialty rotation in integrative cancer care at the Bastyr Center for Natural Health. Additionally, he conducted pre-clinical research on botanical medicine for the prevention of liver cancer caused by iron overload. This research was published in the journal Nutrition and Cancer.

Currently a Fellow of the American Board of Naturopathic Oncology, Todd founded Wellness Working Group in Jacksonville Beach, FL, in early 2013. While maintaining a broad interest in naturopathic medicine, Todd specializes in naturopathic cancer support, focusing on the evidence-based, safe integration of botanical, nutritional, and mycological medicines, as well as lifestyle modifications, into conventional cancer care.

Todd’s primary mission is to help clients improve their cancer journey by leveraging the benefits of natural medicine.

Adeline Deladisma M.D., M.P.H., is a University of Florida assistant professor of surgery and a board-certified surgeon at UF Health Jacksonville. She also serves as the medical student clerkship director for the Department of Surgery.

Dr. Deladisma received her medical degree from Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine in Hershey, Pennsylvania. She completed her medical residency in surgery at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Georgia, as well as a breast surgical oncology fellowship at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis, Maryland.

Dr. George Kim is a board certified medical oncologist specializing in gastrointestinal oncology. He recently joined the University of Florida Health Cancer Center in Gainesville, Florida. After receiving a medical degree from the University of Vermont, College of Medicine, he completed internship and residency at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. Dr. Kim then completed medical oncology fellowship at the National Cancer Institute where he conducted laboratory research involving microsatellite instability and analyzed archived specimens from several National Surgical Breast and Bowel Project colorectal cancer phase III trials. This published work helps define the predictive and prognostic roles of high-degree microsatellite instability in the adjuvant setting.

He subsequently joined Mayo Clinic Florida and served as the Director of the Gastrointestinal Cancer Section, the Phase I Program and the Research Affiliates Network. He also served as the Director of GI Oncology at the George Washington University Cancer Center. Dr. Kim served as the principal investigator of several GI cancer trials conducted through the North Central Cancer Treatment Group, Phase 2 Consortium and Mayo Clinic Cancer Center involving colorectal, pancreatic and hepatocellular cancers. These trials focused on combining contemporary chemotherapy with novel biologic agents and had significant focus on predictive markers. Dr. Kim was also a principal investigator in Mayo Clinic Pancreas Cancer SPORE and funded to study predictive markers of gemcitabine activity.

He served on U.S. Intergroup committees, both Pancreas and Colon Cancer Task Forces. He published numerous reports on the treatment of these cancers and on the discovery of predictive markers. Dr. Kim authored numerous peer-reviewed manuscripts and multiple book chapters. He served on patient advocacy boards for stomach and pancreatic cancer.

Alena Figueroa is dedicated Oncology Nurse Practitioner. Prior to transitioning into oncology, she spent 10 years as a certified critical care nurse. Her passion for cancer care is rooted in a deeply personal experience—her husband’s early cancer diagnosis, motivating her to dedicate her career to improving the lives of cancer patients. Alena is also passionate about research and strives to identify the most effective treatments and products to enhance patient lives during and after cancer. Outside of her professional life, she is a loving wife of 15 years and a devoted mother of two children. Her unique blend of clinical experience, personal dedication, and commitment to advancing cancer care drives her to make a meaningful difference in the lives of cancer patients.

Laura Garwood is a health educator & personal holistic chef specializing in detoxifying and nourishing plant based foods. She is the founder of Kitchen of Life and the author of Perfectly Plated, A Hands-On Guide to Digestive Health and Nutritional Wealth. Kitchen of Life and its signature in-home program focuses on helping clients achieve wellness through diet, nutrition and lifestyle changes. Laura empowers individuals with her hands-on help in the kitchen and a personalized touch to meal planning. She emphasizes a holistic approach to overall well-being. Laura received her certification as a Health Educator from the Hippocrates Health Institute in West Palm Beach, Florida and holds a Master of Arts in Teaching from Manhattanville College.

Marija Kantarevic is a dedicated Oncology Nurse Practitioner with over 14 years of progressive nursing experience. Advancing through diverse nursing roles before earning her Master’s degree, Marija is devoted to providing comprehensive oncology care - combining clinical expertise with empathy to enhance her patients’ well-being. She takes great pride in delivering personalized treatment and emotional support, striving to make a meaningful impact on the lives of those she serves. Beyond her professional commitments, Marija has been happily married for 20 years and is the proud mother of two sons. She values the balance between her rewarding career and her family, finding joy in her work and her role as a mother and wife.  In her free time, she enjoys traveling while continuing to extend her dedication to caring for others personally and professionally.

Marzena co-founded SurvivorRx with her husband, Dr. Joe Mignone. Her passion for supporting survivors comes from her heart, not just from being married to an oncologist for over two decades. She's had the privilege and emotional weight of caring for close family members and dear friends affected by cancer. From their initial diagnoses to their triumphant survivorship, Marzena has gained deep insights into what survivors need, wish for, and hope to achieve. She also feels a strong connection with caretakers, having walked in their shoes herself. 

As a co-founder, Marzena ensures that both survivors and caretakers always have a voice in the SurvivorRx boardroom and beyond. Her love for learning and helping others led her from a career as a family law mediator to obtaining therapist certificates from the California Institute of Integral Studies and MAPS, as well as a yin yoga instructor.  

Marzena brings her life motto to SurvivorRx: "Today is a new day, make it a great one!" She hopes to empower survivors to make their daily decisions with confidence, knowledge, and hope for a healthier future.

As a contributing author, Adrienne helps shape impactful, community-rooted storytelling with an empathetic understanding of the survivor journey.

Her perspective is deeply informed by personal experience: both her mother and sister are survivors of stage III breast cancer, and Adrienne has been a caregiver to her partner during treatment for stage II Hodgkin's lymphoma. These lived experiences have profoundly shaped her understanding of survivorship, resilience, and holistic well-being—fueling her passion for creating content that supports, empowers, and uplifts others.

Outside of her contributions to SurvivorRx, Adrienne is an entrepreneur and certified holistic health and wellness coach. She advocates for balanced living, mental wellness, and personal growth—values that guide both her personal and professional life. Her approach is grounded in empathy, driven by purpose, and rooted in her core principles: collaboration, creativity, and meaningful impact.

Brittiany Nastasi serves as the Customer Service Manager at SurvivorRx, bringing over 25 years of expertise in customer service. Her journey in oncology began in 2008 as a medical assistant, and through hard work and dedication, she progressed to lead CSR and eventually office manager.

A breast cancer survivor since 2017, Brittiany's diagnosis sparked a passion for herbalism, culminating in a master’s degree in the field. Outside of work, she treasures time with her family, enjoys movie outings, and has a love for reading sci-fi thrillers and fantasy novels. Brittiany has a deep appreciation for exploring new places and creating memorable experiences. She enjoys traveling with her family and friends, embracing the opportunity to connect with loved ones and discover new destinations.

Izzy Mignone is a student, blog author, and health research enthusiast. In college, she studied psychology and biology and is currently pursuing her MBA. With a passion for optimizing health and a knack for deep-diving into medical research, Izzy brings a love of reading scholarly and scientific articles to her writing. She strives to make complex information easier to understand, helping readers apply it to their own wellness journeys.

Kathryn is a mother of three college students, with a professional background in video production and marketing. More recently, she completed yoga teacher training and pursued master’s work in psychology, reflecting her lifelong dedication to growth and resilience.

In 1999, her sweet niece, AmyCatherine, was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia at the age of three. For six years, Kathryn provided steadfast support to her brother’s family, taking time off work to be by AmyCatherine’s side during her most intensive treatments at the University of California, San Francisco Medical Center, about every eight weeks. Tragically, AmyCatherine lost her battle with cancer at the age of nine, with Kathryn at her bedside.

Remarkably, advances in treatment mean that today, children diagnosed with leukemia have a much brighter prognosis. Thanks to immunotherapy, most children with this diagnosis now survive, a testament to the hope and progress in fighting this disease.

Lena is an integrative health coach and a cancer survivor who helps individuals navigate life transitions and health in recovery. Blending her personal experience with cancer, first with her mother and then her own, her background as a nuclear medicine technologist, and national board certification in health and wellness coaching, Lena co-creates tailored conversations with her readers focused on the power of choice, resilience, and vitality. She is a wife of 25 years, a mom of 3, and homeschools her children, including a child on the autism spectrum. Lena's work emphasizes how creating self-trust, vibrant health, and purpose after cancer is possible.

Lisa is a strong survivor of Stage 2 breast cancer diagnosed in September 2008 followed by Double mastectomy, 12 rounds of chemotherapy and Tamoxifen for 5 years.

Lisa spends her life traveling with her husband and enjoying her family. Especially her 2 grown children and 2 furry babies. 

Tammy recently celebrated her 20th cancer free year. She was diagnosed with stage 1 hormone positive breast cancer in 2004 and had a lumpectomy and radiation followed by 5 years of arimidex.

Above all, Tammy loves being a grandmother to her handsome grandson, and spending time with her daughter and husband.
