Survivors deserve to know why we made those decisions:

• Folate (Folic Acid): Folate is essential for making and repairing DNA. However, several studies have shown that taking too much folate from supplements may increase cancer risk in some people. For that reason, we encourage obtaining all your folate from food and only taking extra supplementation as prescribed by your healthcare provider.* 
• Vitamin B12: High levels of vitamin B12 have been linked to potentially an increased risk of some cancers. This connection is still being studied to
  understand how it works and the full potential risks. For that reason, we do not automatically include B12 in your daily SurvivorRx supplement packets. We encourage obtaining your B12 from a balanced diet and only taking extra supplementation as prescribed by your healthcare provider. If you are found deficient in B12 and your healthcare providers suggest it, you can add B12 to your daily packets on a 3-month subscription basis.* 
• Kava: Kava has been linked to liver damage. For our experts, the risk of liver toxicity to survivors outweighs the potential benefits, making it unsuitable for inclusion in our supplements.*
• Slippery Elm: Slippery Elm can interfere with the
  absorption of other nutrients and medications. Its mucilaginous properties, while soothing to the digestive tract, create a barrier that can prevent other ingredients from being properly absorbed. We wanted to maximize the absorption of our active ingredients, therefore decided to exclude this ingredient.*
• St. John's Wort: St. John's Wort has many known benefits, but it has been shown to significantly
  reduce the effectiveness of various medications, including antidepressants, birth control pills, immunosuppressants, and blood thinners, to name a few. For that reason, our experts decided to keep it out.*
